Security and Interoperability Updates Required
As a community health center with multiple locations throughout South Georgia, communication between clinics and administrative offices is important for maintaining efficient operations. When it comes to handling patient data, it’s critical to have a secure, HIPAA compliant network. SCPCC faced technological challenges with interoperability and network security, and it regularly received phishing emails from malicious sources. SCPCC partnered with SunLink Healthcare Technology in 2017 to manage all IT services and connect to Health Information Exchanges (HIE).
SunLink Secures Network, Manages HIE Connection
SunLink’s project engineers visited SCPCC and completed a comprehensive evaluation of the network. The team diagnosed security weaknesses and created a secure network to reduce the risk of malicious email attacks. SunLink removed all viruses and malware from the domain systems, and now provides complete IT support for all pharmacists and facilities.
